Join the ECR Network committee…
We are looking for new members to join the organising committee of the network. Currently the network is run by two people, Matthew French (University of Birmingham) and Rachel Coombes (University of Oxford). We’re seeking up to three new members to bring ideas to the network as we look to broaden our events programme. This will not only allow us to expand the number of events we do - including, potentially, a conference - but it will ensure the research community is more widely represented. We expect commitment not to exceed a few hours a month, but we respect that this may vary at different points throughout the year, and that your time will be subject to other pressures.
Our activites over the past year have proved the importance of this network for those in the process of early career research within nineteenth-century French visual culture. We have hosted monthly sessions for network members to share and discuss their research, and to explore the practicalities of undertaking doctoral and post-doctoral research. We have also launched our Research Forum that gives a platform for more established academics to discuss their new research.
We welcome applications from anyone, and we encourage those from outside the UK, as well as from underrepresented communities in the field to apply.
Although we have no set agenda when it comes to responsibilities at the moment, we hope that you will be willing to help with the following:
Suggesting ideas for forthcoming network and research forum events
Promoting the network through your own network and institution
Contacting prospective participants for forthcoming events
Website and social media engagement
Convening online network events in the absence of other members.
Split across five members, we do not envisage these tasks requiring a vast amount of time.
